Man Friday Love Honey, Love Heartache 12"
Paradise Garage classic, '79 disco burner

the lab review
Man Friday was a group in the 80's consisting of Brodie Williams on production, Kofi Morny on vocals, and the legendary Larry Levan on mixdowns. They had a few notable releases in their day, but "Love Honey, Love Heartache" is definitely the stand-out. Here we have the instrumental(1) and acapella versions, but strangely enough, no main mix! It's still worth copping for the instrumental, and if you really wanna get tricky - buy doubles and mix them together. The beat is much like Funk Masters' "Love Money" but in a heavily dubbed out, 80's Garage style thanks to the mix down by Levan. Great vocals by too, which you can flip and create your own edits or remixes with the handy acappella. Eddy Rosemond's "(Wake Up And Move) Funk It(2)" is on the flip for some serious '79 disco heat to pump up the floor and is also the sample source for the synth line on Danny Wang's "Like Some Dream I Can't Stop Dreaming."
