R E V I E W
Our midwestern homies at Burlesque went all out for this one - their first ever vinyl release! - starting with the wild hand-screenprinted Technicolor jackets designed by Mike 2600 (naturally). Inside the sleeve, there's five new club-ready remixes from names that'll be very familiar to Lab heads; The Rub's Cosmo Baker gets my pick with for "Alice Is A Sucker(1)," a remix of Moby's "Alice" with hard-hitting old skool drums and dirty rolling bass. Also on the B-side, Calgary's Smalltown DJs give Shop Boyz the Bmore treatment with a French twist on "Party Like A Punk(2)." Elsewheres, Bird Peterson goes all wobbly low-end on the party break-ish "The Jump Off(3)," Dave Nada remixes Soulja Boy ("Cream Dat(4)") and even The 2600 King gets in on the fun with his remix of Rick James' "Give It To Me(5)." Limited pressing.
