Clubroot Clubroot 2LP+CD
moody atmospheric dubstep akin to Burial, pick!
|
the lab review
Impressive debut release from Clubroot on stateside dubstep LoDubs. This album was getting all sorts of head-turns and record checks in the office today, and with good reason. Clubroot's brand of dubstep appeals to the senses with its deep and moody vibe, easily drawing lots of comparisons to Burial's much-lauded style. The dramatic composition and moody atmospherics are a great match for the upcoming cold season (or for the more sensitive dubsteppers), and the clean and intricate rhythms are easy to get used to (much easier than Burial's often abstract and lo-fi style). Already getting tons of support from all the key players including BBC1's Mary Anne Hobbs. Essential listening for Burial fans especially. Limited, hand numbered pressing of 450 packaged in a patented "Vinyl plus" sleeve with CD version included in the sleeve. Highly Recommended.
