I was born in New York City on a Monday! The old chinese woman strikes again in soundtrack form! Composed by James and Fred Wesley, this soundtrack masterpiece is deadly mix of the JB's style instrumentals and James Brown solo vocals. (I know we use superlatives a lot when describing these James Brown Productions, but remember we're picking the best ones). "Down And Out in NYC(1)" should be adopted as the city's anthem... "Mama Feelgood(2)" features everyone's favorite Lyn Collins in a funky disposition... "The Boss(3)" is the shit cause James sings "You know what you see.. you see me.. a bad mutha!" ... " "White Lightning(4)" is acid jazz before there was acid jazz. And with so much hype behind this album you know there's gonna be a cleanup song. "Blind Man Can See It(5)" falls into the one the greatest moments in history category with crazy guitar and drum break groove sampled by Lord Finesse and the Green Eyed Bandit (Das Efx). We love it.
