It'd be pretty daring for me to say that this was a match made in heaven, but ZZT consists of Tiga and Zombie Nation. Yeah... kinda makes you wonder just what level of abrasion this EP could hit, huh? I'm also curious if Josh Wink is laughing at the play on words of his classic hit for the title of this... who knows. In any event, "Lower State Of Consciousness(1)" is one dirty, dirty track. There's an odd collection of grinding synths and obscure video game noises in this that kinda make you go "huh?" every few measures. It's got its good points, but it's far too abrasive for most normal uses, and I could imagine that eardrums will burst with some of those screeching highs playing so often. Thankfully though, Ed Banger's pocketbook filler Justice provides us with a nice, breakbeat-esque remix(2). Much more palatable, this one is a lot easier to swallow, and is definitely the highlight of the two tracks. All you collectors, get this one in the cart - between this and the Timberlake remix Justice produced, you've got a slew of good mixtape material here.
