Simian Mobile Disco once again stay one step ahead of your low traffic blog with this EP release. If you're expecting the catchy electro surge of "Hustler," this isn't it. In fact the opener, "Clock(1)" sounds like an Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark instrumental more than anything (seriously). That's pretty incredible in my book. From there, the EP gets into the territory inhabited by DC Recordings. "Simple(2)" and "3 Pin Din(3)" remind me a lot of Emperor Machine's synthesized space environment. The duo saves the dancefloor bomb for the b2 position with "State Of Things(4)." This track songs like an amalgamation of the two previously mentioned styled, plus the pace and energy of a DFA record. Recommended
