If you're like myself and don't know Glenn, you still probably know him. He's one of those photographers that was so integral to so many subcultures (skateboarding, punk, and hip hop) that you could be sitting on opposite sides of the school quad and still be admiring the same photographer. The intro by Henry Rollin's puts it best by calling him "an energy addict." Whenever youth was buzzing with new ideas and beginning to make a stand, Glenn was there. That's what Fuck You Heroes is all about. Not taking just pictures, but capturing the energy behind the movement. He documented the rise of the infamous Dogtown skate scene, the punk and hardcore scene with such bands lke Fugazi, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Suicidal Tendencies, and even went on to capture the essence of hip hop's with biggest talents such as Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Eric B & Rakim, Beastie Boys, Ice-T, etc... So basically dude is the fuckin' man. Check the preview for the golden collection of works here. It's so inspirational, it'll make you want to quit your boring job and hit the road right now. 148 pages of beautiful B&W and full color photos, hardcover.
