Optical Art is so underrated. Trevor Jackson ruled it for a couple years with his record sleeves, but really, it's more fundamental than fad. The introduction quote applied to this subject is genius: "Thus art is not an object, it is an experience" - Josef Albers. Focusing on the height of Op Art (60s and early 70s), this book quickly establishes itself as a visual and informational force. This ain't no visual tricks book! It rightfully documents the style as an art movement and culls some of the finest examples (painting and sculptures) I've ever experienced. Super informational and visually stunning. Softcover, 300+ pages. 11" x 9.5".
