Old skool and disco rap fans - you just hit the jackpot. This data DVD includes high-quality 320kbps MP3s of over 33 live performances captured in NYC from 1979-'85... and if you're wondering, that's about 26 HOURS of audio. There are appearances (multiple appearances, in most cases) from all the names you'd expect and some you wouldn't: Afrika Bambaataa, Cold Crush, Jazzy Jay, Grandmaster Flash, Fantastic 5, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Caz, Funky 4+1, Force MCs, Kevie Kev, Grand Wizard Theodore, Busy Bee, Melle Mel, Treacherous 3, Rodney C, T La Rock, Lovebug Starski, Spoonie Gee, and TONS more. You'll get the inside look (or listen, rather) at the "live conventions" of the day, a Christmas convention from '81 and even birthday party performances for people like "Troy Troy" and Dota Rock, all recorded at historic spots like T-Connection, Harlem World and the Ecstasy Garage. All the MP3s come pre-tagged and organized in separate directories; audio quality varies from performance to performance, but considering the rarity of this material, it ain't no thing. Also includes a 24 page booklet with lots of cool old flyers designed by Buddy Esquire and Phase 2.
