Aside from their in-house favorite "DJ's and MC's," this is the next biggest thing from Rodney O and Joe Cooley. "Everlasting Bass(1)" begins with some signature West Coast electro production, rocking famous synth horns and the Barry White bassline over Joe Cooley's pioneering skratch patterns. Skratch archivist's wait for the end of the first verse to unlock that open, high pitched "ba-aass" sample that's on every battle record. Rodney O has the flow down plain tight on this one, even though he starts his opening verse with "the bass that's in ya face sho nuff shrugs ya face"- huh? The Egyptian Lover produced flipside, "Your Chance To Rock(2)," is worth a listen too. Also includes "Evon Is On" and its instrumental.
