Call this the original edutainment. Burning Spear dropped a serious bomb on 'em when they released the Marcus Garvey album in 1975, a best-seller that's remained near the top of most reggae heads' all-time top tens for decades. "Old Marcus Garvey(1)" was the lead track on the B-side of the LP, and that prime spot is validated by the strength of this cut. Big horns, jazzy guitar from Chinna Smith and of course powerhouse vocals from Winston Rodney and crew. Jamaican pressing on the original Fox label, sounds a bit deeper and heavier than the Island Records version.
