Debut album on DFA from Jona Bechtolt and Claire Evans as YACHT. If you heard the single for "Summer Song" you know how these kids get down. Total indie dance stuff with some rock, disco, and drum machines thrown in to get the hip kids and hippies from Willyburg to Berkeley shakin' their thangs. The styles represented here are pretty diverse (though all pretty experimental and spacey), from the slow-mo flow of "Ring The Bell," the garage rock of "It's Boring," to the retro-rock of "The After Life," or disco boogie groove of "I'm In Love With A Ripper Party Mix." Lots to soak in here for sure, so keep your mind open. Recommended.
