Generally considered Bright Eyes' breakthrough album, 2002's Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground found Conor Oberst and his big band of fellow Omaha musicians (including Todd and Clark Baechle of The Faint, Orenda Fink and Maria Taylor of Azure Ray, Matt Maginn and Clint Schnase of Cursive, and more) fine tuning and perfecting the indie folk sound. 13 tracks of intimate, heart felt songs that are exceedingly honest and emotional.
