Lab Overview

Numero Group with another major 45 repress for the funk and souls heads. Them Two's "Am I A Good Man" is one of those rare deep soul tunes that has been sampled by everyone from Ghostface to 50 Cent, as well as being featured in films, tv, and more. The track is just steeped  in cinematic soul - with heavy organ, haunting female chorus, and epic breakdowns to make a grown man cry. It was reissued over a decade ago on the 2006 Numero compilation Eccentric Soul: The Deep City Label, but here it is back on proper 45 format with the long-shelved B-side "Love Has Taken Wings." Both tracks were co-written by Clarence “Blowfly” Reid and produced by Johnny Pearsall and Willie Clarke. Recommended.
