Lab Overview

Key Hosono album on vinyl for the first time ever! Originally released in 1989 on cd only, Omni Sight Seeing found Hosono-san exploring new sounds and manifesting his own brand of "world music" during a break from YMO. Taking inspiration from music and sounds he encountered while exploring global cultures, Hosono delivers an impressively eclectic set of pop music like no other. Check the peaceful beats of "Pleocene," acid house vibes on "Laughing Gas" (inspired by Rococo and the French Revolution), the Steve Reich-inspired "Orgone Box," "Andadura" with French-Tunisian singer Amina, "Caravan" with Yasuaki Shimizu much more.  "From Japanese minyo and Algerian rai, to American swing jazz and the self-described, extraterrestrial "Ether music," is eclectic influences coalesce into a sound that is unmistakably Hosono's.This deluxe Light In The Attic pressing includes an 8-page booklet with liner notes and an extensive interview with Hosono, obi strip and gatefold jacket. Only 1,500 copies pressed. Obviously highly recommended.
