Lab Overview

Reissued on gold vinyl! Amon Tobin's Out From Out Where was originally released in 2002 and quickly became a Lab favorite. After being out of print for 10 years, it has finally been made available again in a limited indie exclusive gold edition with gorgeous packaging to rival the original. Peep The Woodman's OG Lab review:

I feel like Amon Tobin always hits you with two types of songs: the kind that makes you want to melt into a chair from melody overload, and the kind that pummels you ruthlessly with breakbeat scientology. On Out From Out Where, his fourth studio album on Ninja Tune, Tobin has found a way to combine the two. It's not necessarily a new sound for him, but it is the most accomplished in finally establishing what that "Amon Tobin sound" is: a post-apocalyptic, futuristic-aint-shit-to-me type of soundtrack. The arrangements are so elaborate on this album that all you have to do is close your eyes and pay attention and a story will unfold through the music. This is the most complex and uncompromising of Amon Tobin's albums, and it's also the darkest. It's as if man has stopped caring whether or not you enjoy the music, because he's more concerned with making it. Go artistic process! I heard you can play this while watching the Matrix on mute. Just start the album after Neo goes "whoa." 11 tracks on double vinyl, superfresh album design.
