Lab Overview

London's Cherrystones has been secretly digging away for years. The consummate crate digger and NTS radio host born Gareth Goddard has teamed up with David Holmes' Touch Sensitive Records for this excellent compilation of tracks that have flown under the radar. Goddard took about two years putting the collection of post punk, new wave and industrial tracks together. Through all his digging Goddard has a particular talent for finding strange but alluring records. There's Rizzo's nihilistic "I Don't Care" along with Transmitters' twisted cover of "The Beat Goes On." Or perhaps you're more into the disjointed free jazz electronics of Crazy House's "People Fall From Tall Buildings." Things get even more out there with Fote's "Permanent," an exercise in twisted art rock from the English band. If you think you've hear it all then it's time for Critical Mass - Worldwide New-Wave, Post-Punk & Industrial 1978-1984. We guarantee it will open your eyes.
