Lab Overview

Jim Sullivan's disappearance in 1975 remains a mystery, but the singer-songwriter's works, starting with Light In The Attic's introduction of his debut album, U.F.O., continue to see the light of day. If The Evening Were Dawn is a collection of 10 acoustic solo recordings. A good amount of tracks from U.F.O. are included ("Jerome," "Sandman," "Roll Back the Time," "So Natural"), but many tracks have previously been unheard, and this is the first time the 1969 studio session is available. Sullivan is on his own terms delivering a stripped down and soulful performance, and according to his widow, Barbara, this is the album Jim always hoped to record. "Roll Back the Time," "Jerome," and "Sandman" are standouts but to a front to back listen is recommended for listeners to get an "unprecedented glimpse into the mysterious, larger-than-life figure who's become the stuff of legends."
