Lab Overview

Burroughs reading his favorite passages from Naked Lunch. Sometime in the 90s the infamous Beat set these passages to tape. Hal Willner and James Grauerholz produced several sessions and recruited a few musicians for accompaniment. Bill Frisell and Wayne Horvitz of John Zorn's Naked City, as well as violist Eyvind Kang, crafted abstract compositions that matched the distorted imagery of Burroughs' writing. The productions were never released and languished on some forgotten shelf for two decades. Willner dusted off the unfinished material in 2015 and enlisted King Khan to flush out the recordings. Thirteen tracks in all. Released by Ernest Jenning Record Co. on limited edition "Bile/Semen/Blood" colored vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
