Lab Overview

portable funk two-tracker from reliable edit crew. Galaxy Sound has become a cop-on-sight label due to Blackcash & Theo’s consistent and respectful edits of the rarest funk & soul breaks. This time around, the duo throw up two golden era hip-hop staples, Pleasure’s “Bouncy Lady” and The Whatnauts’ “Why Can’t People Be Colors Too”. Both are revered for their tantalizing drum breaks which served as the foundation for dozens of classic records, but played in full are absolute floor-fillers for funk & soul DJs. So this 7” is highly welcome in my bag as original copies of both records are cold chilling at Skull Snaps prices on ’Scogs. Blackcash & Theo give both sides a gentle edit for the selectors.
