Lab Overview

Tall Black Guy strikes again, this time 'longside Baltimore's finest, Karizma aka Kaytronik, aka Kris Klayton. The Detroit beatsmith's take on Aretha Franklin's "Young, Gifted and Black" starts off w/ a saucy, low-slung beat underneath expertly chopped vocals, then around the 3-minute mark, the tune takes off into that joyous, clap-along, double-time mayhem. Flip the record over for Karizma's 4/4-take on the same Queen of Soul classic: deep grooves, subtle piano hits and hints of effects-touched vocals—this is strictly a dancefloor affair. This one is a very limited release, previously only available through TGB's fan site, so act quick!
