Lab Overview

"FOR ALL YOU FUCKBOYS THAT EVER DOUBTED THE MIGOS, you played yourself," belts out DJ Khaled on the beginning seconds of Culture. The truth is, Migos been had the hits. From the Drake-blessed "Versace" to the dab song, the ATL trio always understood how to relay its trap tales to the masses. "Bad And Boujee," perhaps with an assist from Donald Glover, took the group to even further heights, however. Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset are CULTURE as of 2017, and the these dudes have taken over the rap/pop sphere without making compromises. Triplet flows, great adlibs (the "Migos flow," if you've been paying attention, have been adopted by new/old rappers all over the world), and phenomenal on-mic chemistry aside, everything just works for the countless-memes-inspiring song, and much of the same can be said about the rest of the sophomore album. "Kelly Price" feat. Travis Scott is a dark, toned-down ode to women, drugs, and the lifestyles of the artists, and "T-Shirt" is another braggadocio, stop-and-start flow banger accompanied by an ice-cold music video. "Get Right Witcha" also slaps, as does "Slippery" featuring Gucci Mane (s/o to Auntie Eva who got a pound and might just serve it). Really, there is not a weak song on the LP, and you'll be playing yourself to not pick it up on vinyl. Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo!
