Moscow based producer and firefighter 813 drops the inaugural release for Columbus, Ohio's Apothecary Compositions. For a producer that got his start releasing chillwave inspired instrumentals, 813 has considerably upped the tempo. He still puts tropical synths and percolating beats to great use, though. Coupled with the producer's penchant for chopped up pop vocals and computer based funk we've got a party igniting combination. While "Village" may have its trapped out moments the feeling is a bit more uptempo, giving way to a more house oriented bridge. The Obey City remix takes things further, widening the drums and making more room for the vocals. The title track is a little brighter, with funky keyboard stabs that play against the rhythm provided by marble mouthed vocal samples. Both DZA and Lil' Texas contribute remixes and while the latter raves things up a bit more DZA's is where it's at. What starts out as a fast traveling house cut quickly descends in to a grime filled half time workout. It's an ideal close to this initial offering from Apothecary Compositions.
