This record has become somewhat of a modern cult classic in the years following its release, amassing a small legion of sworn devotees, from whom we receive messages nearly every week asking us to restock it despite being out of print for nearly a decade. To celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, we hooked up this Turntable Lab exclusive numbered edition of 1000 copies on iridescent blue colored vinyl. Original Lab review:
One-of-a-kind collaborative mini-album from Alina Baraz & Galimatias. Urban Flora features the 21 year old Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter's vocals over the Danish producer's low slung beats. Their musical relationship kicked off with the light weight future R&B of "Drift." The remainder of the songs featured continue in the same mold: Glacially paced beats with crystalline synths, sampled strings and electronic flutes, all brought together by pitched affected vocals letting you know that you're all they need. Eight tracks in all.
