The final project from the late Elodie Lauten brought to vinyl by Wilde Calm. The NYC composer and synth explorer co-wrote the spiritual club classic "In The Light Of The Miracle" with fellow downtown luminary Arthur Russell back in the early 1980's. The proto-house jam has since become an underground classic and now Wilde Calm has brought a new version to the surface, "Miracle 2." The groove is heavily inspired by the Chicago house scene, but with Lauten on vocals and keys, the vibe is opened up to a new dimension of deepness. The original version also features additional vocals from Nirosta Steel (aka Steven Hall), Peter Zummo on trombone, and production/arranging by Pocketknife. Top notch remixes also included from LA's GB (Gifted and Blessed, Wild Oats, Eglo), who takes the track far out into the cosmos, while Brooklyn's Bryce Hackford (PRAH, DFA) zones in on the instrumental for proper underground house vibes. Limited edition of 400, recommended.
