Iconic live album from the Dead's first extended European tour. The album collects a wealth of new material along with new versions of previously released classics. The 3 LP format allowed the band to incorporate some of the extended jams which they had become known for. Some of the new songs include, "Ramble on Rose," "Jack Straw," "Tennessee Jed," "Brown-Eyed Woman," and "He's Gone." Older favorites featured "China Cat Sunflower," by this time indelibly linked to the longtime Dead cover "I Know You Rider," as well as "Cumberland Blues," "Truckin'," "Sugar Magnolia," and "Morning Dew." At this point in their career the band had added the husband and wife team of keyboardist Keith Godchaux and vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux. Europe '72 was the last collection of recordings to feature the undeniably soulful organ and vocals of founding member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan. Limited edition 180 gram pressing.
