So the story goes, that Pete Rock is responsible for doing the original beat for "Juicy" but didn't get credit for it, as Puffy heard it playing from the legendary producer's drum machine and tapped The Trackmasters to recreate it. This sucks because "Juicy" is that GOAT tune. How Biggie—and hip-hop's—rags-to-riches story has gone on to become a monster wedding/club/slumber party/happy-hour rocker that it is today is in itself an amazing story, and there will never be a day when "Juicy" doesn't get people going. S/o to Total for holding down the hook, and props to Tony Humphries for the "Fruity Instrumental," a version of Mtume's "Juicy Fruit" used for the track.
