Deluxe 180g pressing of Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz Funk Greats! The album was the third full length from TG and found the industrial pioneers venturing into more accessible (though still very experimental) sounds that combine the early industrial aesthetic of their earlier works with industrial dance and synth pop sounds that would later be explored by band members Chris Carter and Cosey Tutti. 20 Jazz Funk Greats is light years ahead of its time, especially for a record released in 1979, and would go on to influence future industrial, electro, techno, and experimental acts for years to come. Highlights include the stripped down proto techno "Hot On The Heels Of Love," the creepily smoked out title track, the grinding rhythms of "Still Walking," the arpeggio melodies of "Walkabout," and the dissonant "Six Six Sixties." Limited edition pressing with large format 8 page color booklet featuring tons of TG archive material including previously unpublished photos. 2000 copies only, recommended.
