"We've come to have a good time," says Mick Jagger before going into "Respectable." From The Vault - No Security - San Jose 1999 indeed is a good time, an electrifying, up-and-close recording of the closing date of the British gods' 1999 American tour. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts, joined by bassist Darryl Jones and a slew of other musicians cover Stones' mid-sixties hits to selections from the Bridges to Babylon album, which had dropped abt 2 years prior, and from the opening moments of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" to the closer "Sympathy For the Devil," the 19-tracker never ceases to rock.
