MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
Ableton Live software is a powerful, flexible environment for creating, performing, and producing music. This unique software demands an equally unique control instrument. Akai Professional and Ableton are proud to present the APC20 compact professional Ableton Live performance controller. The APC20 transforms your Ableton Live experience from constructing tracks on a computer to fluid, musical creation. The second model in the APC series, the APC20 offers a smaller footprint than the APC40, enabling musicians to more easily create a personalized setup with multiple APCs, effects controllers, and other devices.
The APC20 is the link between human and computer that perfectly balances analytical parameter control with creative expression. Whether you are an electronic music artist and Live is your canvas, a DJ using Live to mix or remix tracks, or a more traditional musician using Live on stage or in the studio, you will find the APC20 to the intuitive, powerful instrument that directly links your inspiration with Ableton Live.
INSTANT PERFORMANCE
Because Akai Professional and Ableton designed the APC20 specifically for Ableton Live, you don't need to map its controls to talk to the software. Just connect your laptop to the APC20 via USB and you're ready to make magic. The APC20 is plug and play, so you don't need to install drivers. First-time setup is literally three steps: load the included Ableton Live software, plug in and power up your APC20, and select the APC20 as Ableton Live's controller. That's it. No mapping, no setup, no hassles.
The APC20 comes pre-mapped for instant use with Ableton Live software, so if you're new to it, you'll find using the APC20 to be easy to get around on. And if you're an experienced Live user, you'll be happy to note that you can custom-map every single button and fader on the APC20 to completely customize the controls for the way you like to work.
VISUAL FEEDBACK
The APC20 talks directly to Ableton Live, and Live talks directly to the APC20. This bidirectional communication makes the APC20 an advanced controller in that it can receive feedback from the software and display it on its Clip Launch matrix. The Clip Matrix gives you an instant view of clip status: what's loaded, what's playing, and what's being recorded. Each state displays in the grid in a different color so you can get a quick picture of clip state. You can shift your clip focus and get an overview of the clips you have loaded for your set.
PROFESSIONAL CONSTRUCTION
Ableton selected Akai Professional as its partner in developing the APC20 because of Akai Pro's leadership position in great-feeling controllers that are rock solid, rugged, and precise. From the legendary MPC series that changed the way music is made to the industry-standard MPD and MPK controllers, Akai Professional is revered by musicians, DJs, and producers everywhere for creating the feel that powers their creativity. The APC20 is built with a rugged, metal chassis and slip-proof rubber detailing. There's no flimsy plastic here. Faders are solid and precise for pinpoint performance.
CREATIVE CONTROL
The APC20 comes with Ableton Live Akai Professional APC Edition software, which is fully functional for performance and production. Owners of the full edition of Ableton Live 8.1.3 or higher can also work seamlessly with the APC20. Live 8.1.3 has full support for the APC20.
The APC20 also enables special clip-status views and feedback that only the APC20's matrix can display. The matrix is not limited to only 40 clips: you can scroll and shift, enabling you to access, control, and perform with an unlimited number of cells.
The APC20 has nine faders, which you can assign to volume control, pan, sends, and a choice of three user-mapped modes. You have even more control power with special controls including Tap Tempo, Tempo Nudge, record enables, and solo/cues. A new User Mode enables you to use the Clip Launch buttons to control instruments and the Drum Rack.
Designed in partnership with Ableton, the APC20 is the ideal controller for performers who like to perform in a small amount of space for maximum portability. It's also perfect for players who want to combine multiple controllers in their setup thanks to its small footprint. Don't settle for cheap, plastic imitations. From the company whose name is synonymous with the word production, the APC20 is the serious choice.

FEATURES
-DIRECT DESIGN
Because Akai Professional and Ableton designed the APC40 specifically for Ableton Live, you don't need to map its controls to talk to the software. Just connect your laptop to the APC40 via USB and you're ready to make magic. The APC40 is plug and play, so you don't need to install drivers. First-time setup is literally three steps: load Ableton Live, plug in and power up your APC40, and select the APC40 as Ableton Live's controller. That's it. No mapping, no setup, no hassles.
The APC40 comes pre-mapped for instant use with Ableton Live software, so if you're new to it, you'll find using the APC40 to be easy to get around on. And if you're an experienced Live user, you'll be happy to note that you can custom-map every single knob, button, and fader on the APC40 to completely customize the controls for the way you like to work.
-VIRTUAL VIEW
The APC40 talks directly to Ableton Live and Live talks directly to the APC40. This bidirectional communication makes the APC40 an advanced controller in that it can receive feedback from the software and display it on its clip matrix of 40 triggers and on LED rings surrounding each knob. The clip matrix gives you an instant view of clip status: what's loaded, what's playing, and what's being recorded. Each state displays on the matrix in a different color so you can get a quick picture of clip state. You can shift your clip focus and get an overview of the clips you have loaded for your set. The APC40 has 16 knobs, each surrounded by a ring of LEDs. These LED rings make it easy to see your settings on dark stages, indicating the currently selected parameters' values.
- PREMIUM FEEL
Ableton selected Akai Professional as its partner in developing the APC40 because of Akai Pro's leadership position in great-feeling controllers that are rock solid, rugged, and precise. From the legendary MPC series that changed the way music is made to the industry-standard MPD and MPK controllers, Akai Professional is revered by musicians, DJs, and producers everywhere for creating the feel that powers their creativity. The APC40 is built with a rugged, metal chassis and slip-proof rubber detailing. All of the knobs and faders are solid and precise for pinpoint performance. It even features a high quality, replaceable crossfader for transitioning between clips and loops assigned to "A" or "B".
- CREATIVE CONTROL
The APC40 comes Ableton Live Akai Professional APC40 Edition software, which is fully functional for performance and production. Owners of standalone editions of Ableton Live 7 or 8 can also work seamlessly with the APC40. Live 7 with the latest automatic update has full support for the APC40 and all versions of Live 8 are APC40-ready.
The APC40 has two banks of eight knobs. The first set controls Global parameters so you'll always have instant access to your main sends, pans, and other essentials. The second bank of eight knobs is dynamically reassigned to the Track you select. You can control eight track parameters at a time, and as you switch channels, the Track knobs follow your focus. For example, you might be working with the Beat Decoder on track two. When you switch to track four, the eight Track knobs that you had been controlling the Beat Decoder with are now controlling the Flangeverb on track four. You'll even notice that the settings for each knob load on the light rings so you'll immediately see each knob's status.
The APC40 also enables special clip-status views and feedback that only the APC40's matrix can display. The matrix is not limited to only 40 clips: you can scroll and shift, enabling you to access, control, and perform with an unlimited number of cells.
The APC40 has a wide range of controllers. The eight Global knobs can access four banks of controls; the eight Track knobs control nine different track parameters each. This gives you a massive total of 72 controllers that are dynamically reassigned each time you switch tracks. Channel faders, bus faders, and a crossfader give you smooth control of key values. You have even more control power with special controls including Tap Tempo, Tempo Nudge, record enables, solo/cues, and two assignable footswitch inputs.
OUR OPINION
This revolutionary controller will definitely change the way you interact with Ableton, in the best ways possible. If you are a performer, DJ, or remixer, this will help you get the most out of Live. Recommended.

LPD8 USB Laptop Pad Controller
ultra portable USB MIDI controller
OVERVIEW
The LPD8 is an ultra-portable USB-MIDI controller featuring 8 light-up pads and 8 knobs you can assign to virtually any software parameter. With a slim profile weighing less than a pound and measuring less than 13" across, the LPD8 easily fits in your laptop case, backpack, or DJ bag for producing/performing on the go.
FEATURES
The LPD8 has eight orange light-up pads that are velocity sensitive for programming rhythmic or melodic parts. The pads can also send program-change information to software. Additionally, the LPD8 has eight assignable Q-Link knobs you can assign to virtually any parameters in their software for hands-on control and has four memory banks for programming and recalling settings appropriate to different software programs. Also includes a software editor for easy saving and changing of settings through your computer. Works plug and play with Mac or PC (no software driver installation or external power cord necessary).
OUR OPINION
As Akai's answer the Korg's Nano series, the LPD8 holds up very well and actually has a few advantages. While both feature ulra-slim profiles and portability, the LPD8 combines pads AND knobs in one unit (although the knobs are rather short) whereas you would have to buy 2 Nanos (the PAD and KONTROL) to get these features with Korg. It is also slightly shorter than the nanoPAD and features a nice matte finish with rounded corners. Recommended.

LPK25 USB Laptop Performance Keyboard
compact USB MIDI keyboard
OVERVIEW
Akai's LPK25 is a compact USB-MIDI controller keyboard for producers, musicians, and DJs. A scaled-down relative to the MPK series of keyboard performance controllers, the LPK is feature loaded allowing users to create melodies and riffs anywhere, plus its small size and weight makes it extremely portable.
FEATURES
The LPK25 keyboard is made up of 25 miniature, velocity-sensitive keyboard keys with synth action. It features an arpeggiator, which steps through chords automatically, assisting musicians with creating quick melodic ideas. Sustain, octave up and down and tap tempo controls round out the LPK25â™s easy-to-learn layout. The LPDK25 works plug and play with Mac and PC and requires no software driver installation or wall power for operation. It has four memory banks for programming and recalling settings appropriate to different software programs you use.
OUR OPINION
The LPK25 is a vast improvement on KORG's portable mini-USB keyboard. Whereas the KORG had "key-like' computer keys, the LPK25 actually has real mini-keys that are velocity sensitive. A must for keyboard players and producers who want to work with software need to express with real feeling keys. The added features of arpeggiator and memory make this a steal for under $70. Recommended.

MPK25 USB/MIDI Controller
compact keyboard controller with MPC pads and features
OVERVIEW
The MPK25 is a portable keyboard controller with MPC production controls. Based closely on the MPK49, the first keyboard ever to feature MPC pads, the MPK25 scales down the keyboard by 24 keys and retains the utility, capability, and flexibility that made the MPK49 a Lab best seller. Its smaller, more portable size makes the MPK25 the perfect travel companion for producers on the go.
FEATURES
MPK25 combines a 25-key keyboard and 12 genuine MPC pads. The keyboard is semi-weighted and features aftertouch for expressive melodic control. The MPC pads are pressure and velocity-sensitive to capture every nuance of your creative concepts. The pads can access four banks of sounds, so you have 48 samples at your fingertips with the touch of a button.
MPK25 places dedicated transport controls within your reach for easy control of some of the most important tracking and editing controls. The MPK25 has modulation and pitch-bend wheels for expressive musicality, and two assignable footswitch inputs enable you to connect an expression pedal or other continuous controller and a footswitch for momentary controls like patch change or start/stop.
One of the most important input devices on an MPC is its Q-Link assignable control section. The MPK25 gives you twelve virtual knobs and four virtual buttons that are assignable to control nearly any software parameter. You can control two different parameters per Q-Link thanks to the knobs' dual-bank selection.
Two technologies pioneered in the MPC series and built into the MPK series are MPC Note Repeat and MPC Swing. These note-modifying features can be heard in many of the most popular tracks over the last two decades. MPC Note Repeat is a capability that enables the MPK (or MPC) to automatically play a rhythm pattern, such as 16th notes on a hi-hat, for accuracy and speed of entry. MPC Swing is sometimes referred to as "the heart and soul of hip hop" because it turns perfectly aligned sequences into human feeling time alignments. You can specify exactly the degree and timing of swing you want to apply for the perfect feel.
On top of MPC technologies, the MPK25 has its own arpeggiator, which enables you to create quick, creative riffs in seconds.
MPK25 also has MPC Full Level and MPC 12-Level on its pads, as well as Tap Tempo and Time Division so you can nail the tempo, timing, and dynamics exactly as you hear them in your head.
The MPK25 is a MIDI controller that sends its MIDI values over USB. It is bus powered, so all you need to connect and power the MPK25 is the supplied USB cable. Because it is MIDI compliant, the MPK25 works with most MIDI recording, sequencing, and performance software for musical performers from keyboard players to producers to DJs and even VJs. Includes Ableton Live Lite Akai Edition so you can begin producing right out of the box. Recommended.

OVERVIEW
The MPK49 is Akai's fully loaded, next generation USB/MIDI controller. It combines 49 high quality, semi-weighted, full size keys (with aftertouch) with 12 genuine MPC drum pads (48 pads total with 4 pad banks). In addition to the keys and pads, a large array of various sliders, knobs and wheels are at your disposal - 76 assignable controls total!
FEATURES
Having USB/MIDI connectivity, 49 high quality, semi-weighted, full size keys (with aftertouch) and 12 genuine MPC drum pads (48 pads total with 4 pad banks) all in one piece is the maind draw of the MPK49. The pads themselves not only look and feel just like those on an MPC, but they also feature the MPC's velocity and pressure sensitivity, Full Level and 12 Levels option, Note Repeat, Swing Parameters, and Arpeggio functions. Tap tempo and time-division buttons are also available for real time control of Note Repeat and Arpeggio clock speeds. In addition to the pads there are several other controls including 8 full-sized sliders (with 3 controller banks for each for 24 sliders total), 8 assignable backlit switches (with 3 controller banks each for 24 switches total), pitch bend and mod wheel, and input for expression pedals for a total of 76 assignable controls. Also of note is the included Ableton Live Lite Akai Edition software (Mac or PC) which contains 28 custom Akai impulse presets with samples so you can start producing right out of the box.
OUR OPINION
With the genuine MPC pads and control features - the MPK49 is almost like purchasing an MPC and high-end USB controller keyboard in one (for a very reasonable price). In addition - it has ample assignable controls for even the most demanding producers and knob tweekers and is very well equipped to be rocked in the studio or live performance. All this, plus Ableton Live Lite Akai Edition included makes the MPK-49 a top notch choice for anyone looking for a USB/MIDI controller. Recommended.

MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
The Akai Pro MPK mini is an ultra-compact mini-keyboard with an impressive array of buttons, knobs and pads to provide "hands-on" performance and production control no matter your location. MPK mini strikes the perfect balance between portability and comprehensive software control by melding together the complete control offered in the popular Akai Pro MPK family with the grab-and-go convenience of the LPK25 and LPD8. A Tap-Tempo button gives you the ability to quickly adjust the Arpeggiator clock which is essential if you're looking to stay in sync with a band. A Sustain button holds notes after releasing your hand from the keyboard allowing you the opportunity to easily pound pads and twist knobs, with no pedal required.
MPK mini's 8 back-lit, velocity-sensitive pads are based on Akai Professionalâ™s MPC line of iconic music production stations. Great for firing one-shot samples and sequencing drum patterns, you can use the pads to send note information, MIDI CCs, or even program changes. Pressing the Bank button will quickly toggle between 2 banks of pads giving you access to 16 pads in total. Additionally, the MPK mini has 8 assignable Q-Link knobs to control virtually any parameter in your software.
MPK mini works plug-and-play with Mac and PC and requires no software driver installation or wall power for operation. It has four memory banks for programming and recalling settings appropriate to your favorite software programs. The included software editor lets you quickly map MPK mini's controls as well. RECOMMENDED.

MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
EKS Otus' stylish physical appearance, clever design and the solid touch and feel will make any professional DJ feel at home from the very first encounter. The sturdy aluminum frame is built to withstand the physical abuse of DJing and the hazards of travel. The heart of Otus is its illuminated, high resolution 7.5" jog wheel with sensitivity adjustments. Otus has been designed to fit firmly in the place, or on top of standard DJ turntables, with vibrations substantially reduced due to its unique sharp cloves (feet). All of the controls onboard the Otus are of the highest professional standards and are illuminated by LED indicators for maximum usability in a club environment.
Independent by spirit, Otus gives DJs the freedom to work with software combinations of choice. It feels at home next to a mixer, external soundcard or another controller, but can also replace them all if needed. The advanced MIDI mapper & Asio software makes creating different setups a breeze.
Otus offers a wide range of controls enabling the user full control â" no mouse or keyboard needed. The placement of each control has been optimized for usability and for show factor. All of the key functions are placed closest to the DJ, while effect orientated controls are placed further away. This allows the club audience a better view of the DJ tweaking knobs. The Future Proof Ideology of the control layout allows the use of future software features. Assignable buttons, knobs, push-and-rotate selectors and capacitive touchpad enable advanced creative freedom, while the relative touch sensitive slider allows very accurate pitch adjustments. To top it off, all of the controls can be virtually doubled via a color indicated layer selection switch or shift button. The second layer, indicated by LED color changes, offers the option to control two virtual decks with one Otus or even other software like MIDI controllable VJ programs. A professional level audio/headphone output allows direct connectivity to a DJ system or the possibility for headphone preview.

The Octave Shift buttons extend the range of the microKEY by four octaves in either direction â" up or down. The Key Transpose allows you to play in any key instantly. Used together, these two features provide access to the entire MIDI note range. For adding tasty expression to your performance, the microKEY is also equipped with both a Pitch Bend wheel and a Modulation wheel.
USB versatility
Your new microKEY serves double-duty as a USB hub. The two USB ports (Type A) allow you to expand your custom control center by adding on a Korg nanoPAD or nanoKONTROL â" or any other USB device.

NanoKey 2 Slim-Line USB Keyboard - Black
ultra compact USB midi controller
LAB POINTS
- low-profile, 25-key USB-MIDI keyboard
- ultra compact size ideal for use with laptop and netbook computers
- advanced-design keybed offers improved accuracy and velocity-sensitive keys
- sustain button - ideal for entering piano parts
- control buttons provide simple yet versatile control
- USB power for an uncluttered setup
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
The nanoKEY2 features an advanced and up-to-date design. By combining the great-feeling "touch" that Korg has developed for its professional MIDI keyboards and the low-profile "thinness" of recent computer keyboard innovations, the nanoKEY2 provides a superior keyboard response for its class and size. It's designed with ample key width and plenty of space between the keys, reducing the chances of a wrong note. The touch and velocity response have been carefully tuned, as only a manufacturer with Korg's track record and know-how can, ensuring that your expressive performance will be conveyed accurately to your software.
The Octave Shift buttons - borrowed from Korg's MIDI controllers - allow the overall pitch to be shifted four levels, either UP or DOWN, in octave increments. For enhanced performances, the nanoKEY2 also provides Pitch Bend buttons, a Modulation button, and a Sustain button, one that's indispensible for piano or electric piano performance. For each of these buttons, the on/off switching speed can be specified over four levels (using the Korg Kontrol Editor), ensuring the smooth changes that are appropriate for your performance.
The nanoKEY2 works with the "Korg Kontrol Editor" software, available free on the Korg website. Load it into your computer, and use it to make detailed customized settings. Choose from a total of four velocity settings: three velocity curves or fixed velocity; specify the control change messages transmitted by the modulation button and the sustain button.
Just connect a single USB cable from your computer to the nanoKEY2, and you've got a quick and portable music production system. Power and USB-MIDI data travels down the same wire for a clean, efficient workspace.

NanoKontrol Slim-Line USB Controller (Vers. 1)
OVERVIEW
Korg's Nano series are the most compact USB-MIDI controllers on the market. These slim line controllers give you versatile control over your programs in the studio, at home, or on the road at a very affordable price. This is the highly functional Kontrol version with a variety of assignable knobs, buttons, and sliders.
FEATURES
The nanoKONTROL is a bus powered USB-MIDI controller featuring 9 knobs, 9 sliders, 18 buttons, and a full set of transport buttons all in an ultra compact and slim frame about the width of most laptops. The nanoKONTROL also boasts 4 user scene memories and corresponding buttons. Use the nanoKONTROL for versatile control over your DAW, virtual instrument/effect or DJ software.
OUR OPINION
If you're looking for an extremely portable USB-MIDI controller at an affordable price, look no further. You cannot get much smaller than the nanoKONTROL, but despite its small size, it has features that are comparable with much bulkier and higher priced controllers. All the assignable knobs, sliders, and buttons are especially useful for live remixing or digital DJing with your application of choice. Recommended.

NanoPad 2 Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller - Black
ultra compact USB midi pad controller
LAB POINTS
- low-profile pad controller, excellent for playing or entering drum data
- ultra compact size ideal for use with laptop and netbook computers
- 16 solid, responsive, and velocity-sensitive trigger pads
- dynamic trigger pads capture all your performance nuances
- control multiple MIDI parameters via the X-Y Touchpad
- USB power for an uncluttered setup
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
Like all nanoSERIES2 controllers, the nanoPAD2 had to be compact, lightweight and sized to work well with any laptop or desktop computer. In addition, the nanoPAD2 also had to pack in 16 great-feeling and dynamic-sensing pads â" as well as leaving room for the X-Y touchpad! The Korg nanoPAD2 does all this and more. In fact, there are four banks of pad assignments, providing a total of 64 pad assignments.
The sixteen velocity-sensitive pads provide excellent response to your fingertips, and also realistically convey the playing feel to your sequencer or DAW software, ensuring that your drum parts will be full of life. By switching between the four scenes, you can experience 64 different pad assignments.
Create musical phrases using the X-Y touchpad, Touch Scale, and Gate Arp features
The X-Y pad can be used to control multiple synthesizer parameters. In addition, the new "Touch Scaleâ function lets you intuitively play phrases on the X-Y touchpad, just as on the Kaossilator. You can choose from sixteen different scales, and specify the root key and note range to ensure that your performance stays within your song. The "Gate Arpâ function, borrowed from the Kaossilator Pro, transmits note data based on tempo; Tap tempo and tempo sync are supported. Combined with the Touch Scale, the Gate Arp allows you to play tempo-synchronized phrases and rhythms simply by stroking the X-Y pad or playing the pads.
The nanoPAD2 works with the "Korg Kontrol Editor" software â" available free on the Korg website. Load it into your computer, and use it to make detailed customized settings. Choose from a total of four velocity settings: three velocity curves or fixed velocity. You can also specify note numbers, create user scales for the Touch Scale function, assign chords, assign control change messages, and save your settings.
Just connect a single USB cable from your computer to the nanoPAD2, and you've got a quick and portable music production system. Power and USB-MIDI data travels down the same wire for a clean, efficient workspace.

Dicer Digital DJ Controller (Pair)
cue point and loop controller for digital DJs
LAB POINTS
- palm-sized cue point and looping controller
- fits on your turntables, CDJs, mixer, or laptop for easy access to controls
- backlit, multi-colour, soft touch "dice" buttons, provide immediate LED feedback
- pre-programmed for cue point and looping functions in Serato
- fully MIDI mappable for use with any DJ software
- plug and play, USB powered
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
Developed with Serato, this palm-sized cue point and looping controller has been designed to fit exactly where you need it: on your turntables, CDJs, mixer or laptop. Dicer always ships in pairs - one for each side.
Plug Dicer in, slot it on your turntable/CDJ, and you can instantly set cue points and use them to trigger 'Hot Cues'. Or, flip Dicer into 'Auto-Loop' or 'Loop Roll' modes, to trigger loops, or 'roll' sections of the track to create climaxes, drops and glitchy breaks. Each 'mode' illuminates Dicer's pads a different colour, so you can instantly see what mode the pads in, even in dark clubs and venues.
Serato Scratch Live 2.1 will automatically map the Dicer to these functions and provide full LED feedback - red for Hot Cues, green for Loop Roll, and amber for Auto-Loop.
Dicer's buttons can also 'learn' other software functions. So, you can assign different FX to the pads, or trigger samples over the top of your mix, or even browse tracks in your iTunes library!
Dicer was designed by Novation in collaboration with Ean Golden - DJ and curator of DJ Tech Tools. Ean came up with the concept of a controller that fits on the turntable, and his contribution has been crucial in helping Novation design and develop Dicer.
Dicer does not come with its own software, it works in conjunction with Serato Scratch Live or other DJ software such as Traktor Scratch Pro.

Digital Jockey 2 USB/MIDI Controller - Interface Edition
versatile controller/interface optimized for Traktor
LAB POINTS
- USB MIDI hardware controller optimized for Traktor
- 4 channel sound card with 16 bit/48 kHz, external inputs and outputs
- double assignment of MIDI commands with shift buttons
- control up to 4 virtual decks (on Traktor)
- touch-sensitive, two-part jog wheels
- includes Traktor LE
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
With the Digital Jockey 2 Reloop gives Traktor DJs a controller that will make sound become truly tangible: A hardware control that facilitates such an immediate access to the world's leading DJ software plus such a great handling of all functions that both components result in a perfect team up.
With its noble panel made of brushed aluminium the Digital Jockey 2 lies so well in the hand as never before. Its control panel is clearly arranged and is geared to all important Traktor PRO functions. The red illumination is very striking, white captions indicate the way to the second MIDI level. Together with the black chassis the Digital Jockey 2 also forms an optical unit with Native Instruments Traktor which is already included as the latest LE version.
DJs that have been working with CD players will feel at ease with the Reloop controller's second generation just as quickly as DJs that have been controlling Traktor via computer. The new, high-quality pitch faders are very delicate and do not lock at 0%.
The Digital Jockey 2's MIDI mapping is enormous: With the glistening white shift buttons a true double assignment of all MIDI commands becomes possible. This way it is possible to control up to 4 virtual decks simultaneously with the Digital Jockey 2 and Traktor.
Additionally the Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition comes with an outstanding 4 channel sound card with 16 bit/48 kHz that offers a super fast USB connection as well as external inputs and outputs. With the Digital Jockey's Interface Edition 2 it is possible to directly monitor the virtual mixing channel thanks to the headphones input; this way the sound system can also be directly connected by cable to the Interface Edition.
The touch-sensitive, two-part jog wheels are an Interface Edition exclusive that facilitate a vinyl-like feeling when cueing, scratching, browsing and effect modulating. The adjustable knobs on the device's front side for the crossfader curve plus the microphone and headphones equalizers are further additional features of the Interface Edition.

LAB POINTS
- robust dj controller with 4 deck control
- includes Traktor LE
- high quality 24 bit/96 kHz audio interface with BurrBrown AD/DA converters
- 90 freely assignable MIDI controls
- stand alone mixer function - analog sources (turntables, CD players, etc) can be conneted and mixed without a computer

- high resolution, ultra slim jog platters with vinyl grip
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
First and foremost this controller is perfectly matched to the vast operation of Native Instruments' Traktor PRO and its 4 decks. However, the Jockey 3 is ideally applicable with any other MIDI compatible software, e.g. Virtual DJ.
The ample layout which is optimized for the ergonomic operation methods of DJs, offers intuitive control for a fast and secure performance without the need to touch a computer. The deck-control section is amply equipped and offers ideal control of all advanced functions for perfect digital DJing with up to 4 virtual decks. The newly developed, extremely flat jog wheels with adjustable drag and high resolution with 4096 steps per turn offer unequaled opportunities. Outstandingly precise handling that facilitates control to the split second of every immaginable track during fast-paced club gigs.
Sturdily screwed control dials, extremely smooth-running faders and backlit buttons for visual and tactile status feedback, in full size and club quality, offer every DJ a safe working environment. The solid rubber smooth-touch buttons cater for a direct responsiveness of commands, even after many nightly gigs.
The Jockey 3 is still compact enough for mobile transport and application, a true low-profile, professional controller for the daily club grind of travelling Traktor DJs. Mobile DJs will love the possibility to directly connect their analog equipment, such as turntables or CD players, to the Jockey 3. As opposed to many other solutions on the market, the Jockey 3 offers a true stand alone function that can be operated self-sustainingly without a computer - more flexibility is impossible. Thanks to the additional Master Thru connection a second controller can be routed and even monitored; perfect for DJ team setups.
The Reloop Jockey 3 offers a digital mixer section with an exchangeable, extremely smooth-running premium crossfader, sturdy and precise 70mm linefaders, LED level meter, CUE buttons with cue-mix fader, and a high-quality 3-fold EQ. Via metal dip switches -in a classic old school mixer style- two MIDI decks or an analog input can be assigned per channel.
The USB audio/MIDI interface operates with an audio resolution of up to 24 bit/96 kHz on studio standard. The renowned high-end BurrBrown AD/DA converters give the Jockey 3 low latency, first-class sound characteristics, a vast dynamic range, and the necessary power to rock a club. The symmetrical outputs offer powerful sound and in the club they can be routed directly to the sound system. Thanks to the ASIO/CORE driver technology for PC and MAC low latency and first-class sound are guaranteed.

Mixage Interface Edition w/ Traktor LE
compact dj controller w/ built-in interface + Traktor LE
LAB POINTS
- DJ USB/MIDI controller with built-in audio interface
- integrated 4 channel USB audio interface with 16 bit/48 kHz
- classic DJ layout ideal for Traktor
- large touch sensitive jog wheels
- RCA out, 1/4" headphone out, 1/4" mic in w/ volume control
- 54 freely assignable MIDI parameters (knobs, faders, buttons)
- includes Traktor LE
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
The perfect introduction to digital mixing: based on the famous Digital Jockey series, Reloop presents two new compact controllers that do not accept a compromise when regarding quality and feeling. Clearly structured and well arranged, the DJ will feel comfortable whether newbie or advanced. The feature set is ideally laid out for Traktor LE and offers all the important features for rocking the party crowd! Two touch sensitive XXL jog wheels can be used either for scratching and pitch bending or for quick track searching. With the big transport section (play, cue, cup & sync) the track is quickly mixed and via shift function this section can also be used triggering cue points. Thanks to the precise sync feature every blend-over is perfectly beat-matched and the DJ can focus on more important things such as creative remixing. Effects such as delay, flanger or reverb can be easily selected and manipulated via a large soft-touch encoder. A designated rotary control for filter (and pan) can be used for amazing high-pass and low-pass sweeps (HPF/LPF). The loop section comes with auto loop, manual in & out buttons, and a further encoder for rapid beat looping. The high-resolution 14 bit pitch fader and the illuminated pitch bend buttons round off the player section.
Besides 3-band equalizer and gain the classically arranged 2 channel mixer also offers an LED level meter and convenient MIDI data & power status lights. The large and handy Trax encoder makes digging in the music library and finding just the right track easy as pie. Master and headphones volume and the cue-mix function as high-performance fader are always at hand. On the rear panel the LED background light and the jog wheels sensitivity can be adjusted to one's own preferences. The shift lock switch is also highly practical as it is used to activate the shift function as toggle or hold mode. A further highlight is the DJ Team switch: Two Mixage controllers can be hooked up to one computer. This way one DJ team can control four decks in one software without mixing up the MIDI command (Traktor PRO required).
A pre-configured Traktor LE version is already included; easily connected via USB and selected through the Setup Wizard you are ready to mix. Of course Reloop Mixage is also compatible with any other software that is enabled for MIDI control. Reloop Mixage can be transported easily due to the compact shape and carried effortlessly in every gig bag. This slick controller is characterized by a plain user interface; everybody will quickly get well along with it. High-quality components including sturdy metal panels and a aluminium cover plate are almost unique in this affordable price range. Save your bucks - but don't save on quality! Those who do not possess a multi-channel soundcard should go for the Mixage Interface Edition. A professional multi-channel interface is built in this version. Easily connect your sound system and headphones for direct monitoring of the tracks. The ASIO driver architecture facilitates lowest latency and fast mixing without delay. For hosts, MCs or singers a microphone connection on the front side has been integrated. The signal can be routed directly to the master-out or to a computer for recording; the volume can also be adjusted directly.

VCI-100MKII USB DJ Controller w/ Traktor LE
popular digital dj controller, now with built-in interface + 4 deck control

LAB POINTS
- updated MKII version with built-in sound card, 4 deck control, and tension adjustable JOG wheels
- all-in-one hardware + software digital djing system, all you need is a computer and headphones
- includes Traktor LE
- built-in 16bit/44.1kHz audio interface, no need for additional interface
- 2 RCA in and 4 RCA out enables you to add CD players, turntables, and effects to your setup
- large high resolution JOG wheels
- new joystick for speedy track searching & loading
- dedicated USB MIDI controller, up to 128 MIDI assignable parameters
- durable and lightweight, only 4.4 pounds
LAB REVIEW
This is the updated MKII version. The main differences between MKI and MKII are the addition of the built-in 2 in/4 out audio interface (which eliminates the need for additional interfaces and allows for addition of CD players, turntables, samplers and effects to your DJ setup), 4 deck control, and larger, tension adjustable JOG wheels. Additional upgrades include a new multi-function joystick for quick and easy searching and loading of tracks, more MIDI assignable parameters (128 total), new ergonomic knobs, and a new symmetrical control layout.
These upgrades make the VCI-100 almost on par with the VCI-300, but includes Traktor LE instead of Serato Itch and lacks mic input and 1/4" outs. The addition of the built-in interface is huge in making the unit a true all-in-one system, plus the option to control 4 decks, quick search joystick, and lightweight design make the VCI-100MK2 an excellent choice for digital DJs. Recommended.
MANUFACTURER'S REVIEW
In 2006, Vestax introduced the VCI-100, the worldâ™s first professional USB MIDI controller, which perfectly fit into the upcoming demand of the computer DJ scene. The concept of flexibly controlling any DJ software and being built with Japanese parts and mechatronics technology enabled the VCI-100 to make its mark in the DJ world. Over the years as the entire DJ scene made its shift to computer based DJing, we kept collecting requests and demands to make another mark. This time, with the VCI-100MK2.
HIGH QUALITY AUDIO
The VCI-100MK2 includes a high quality 16bit/44.1kHz 2in4out audio interface which enables to add CD players, turntables, effects, samplers, and more to your DJ setup. Also considering DJs who want to have options, the VCI-100MK2 can also be used with other audio interfaces.
4 DECK CONTROL
Mix maximum 4 decks by switching through with the DECK selector.
MULTI FUNCTION JOYSTICK
Instant access to your track lists, quick track previewing and track loading all with one joystick.
TORQUE CONTROL
Every DJ has a preference for the touch of the JOG wheel, which relates to the DJ's play style. The rotation torque of the VCI-100MK2's JOG wheels can be tuned to your preference by simply adjusting the centerpiece.
ERGONOMIC CONTROLS
Ergonomic design control knobs with anti-slip coating provide the perfect touch to make accurate adjustments.
REFINED CONTROL
All buttons of the VCI-100MK2 are tuned to provide a stress less refined touch and communicate with extreme precision. LED backlights provide excellent visibility and tells you the current status of your setup.
ALUMITE PANEL
The strong and solid alumite (the same aluminum type material used on macbooks) top panel secures the VCI-100MK2 and provides a professional appearance. Just looking at it tells you it will live up to heavy duty.

VCI-300MKII USB DJ Controller w/ Serato ITCH
all-in-one digital dj system w/Serato

LAB POINTS
- all-in-one hardware + software digital djing system, all you need is a computer and headphones
- custom designed to use with Serato Itch program (included)
- designed with djs in mind, increasingly more popular amongst digital djs
- built-in interface, easy setup, no need for additional Serato box or audio interface
- dedicated USB MIDI controller
- highly portable, weighs less than 9 lbs.
- touch sensitive JOG wheels simulate real turntable control
OUR OPINION
This is the updated MKII version. Main differences between MKI and MKII: small 1/8" and big 1/4" headphone socket, master volume boost when using an external power supply, new adjust knobs for the platter sensitivity, new optional Vestax digital crossfader, and new analog throughput for mic/aux input.
The VCI-300 is quickly becoming the dj standard for all-in-one, controller based DJing. The intuitive mixer-like layout, the touch sensitive JOG wheels, and the Serato Itch software, all combine to give the user an experience that is very similar to djing on a turntable-based Serato setup. We've seen many DJs use the VCI-300, and everything from the djs movements to the music manipulation is very similar. In addition, because of its size, weight (less than 9 lbs.), and all-in-one design (the interface is built-in), the VCI-300 is one of the most portable djing solutions available. Recommended.
MANUFACTURER's REVIEW
Vestax and Serato have joined forces. Sharing their technology and compiled feedback from Pro DJs and users from around the world, they have created a dedicated DJ USB MIDI / Audio system and software offering absolute control.
The VCI-300 is a dedicated USB MIDI controller for the included Serato DJ software. It also comes with a built in audio interface with standard 4in/4out and headphone connection, which means all you need for DJing is the VCI-300, a laptop and a set of headphones.
New features such as the [Emergency Thru Switch] offers an option of using the VCI-300 with the provided ITCH software or without the computer connected if you simply want to play music from your external CD or MP3 player. Another is the new weight reduced JOG wheel and the adjustable JOG wheel torque mechanism to avoid vibration from low frequency feedback.Â
HIGH RESOLUTION CONTROL
The VCI-300 can control more than 90 parameters and functions of the included Serato software with high resolution MIDI signals sent via USB. The pulse resolution of the JOG wheel and pitch control fader is 4 times higher than the VCI-100 and provides precise control of each function. The pitch control fader also shares the same high quality fader parts of the input fader for advanced operability.
SUPERB AUDIO CHARACTERISTIC
The built-in audio interface carries a Audio Codec IC with superb audio characteristic, generated by a delta-sigma modulation 24 bit stereo D/A-A/D converter. Audio connection includes 1 stereo input, 1 MIC input and 2 stereo output (Master L/R, Monitor L/R).
LEVEL INDICATION
A 12 level LED L/R indicator is set in the center of the top panel to monitor sound levels.
FILE CONTROL
Audio files in the software library can be easily selected and controlled with the CRATES / FILES / BROWSE key and the cursor switch inherited from the VCM-100.
EMERGENCY THRU SWITCH
The Emergency Thru Switch located on the rear panel is a countermeasure where you can use the VCI-300 with the provided ITCH software or without the computer connected if you simply want to play music from your external CD or MP3 player. The ITCH software reads music from your iTunes library or the Serato library you use for Scratch LIVE, making it the perfect device for recreational or professional DJ's.
ADJUSTABLE JOG WHEEL TORQUE
The torque of each JOG wheel can be adjusted to prevent them from moving from low frequency feedback and altering the pitch when using the VCI-300 in such places like clubs.
FADER CURVE CONTROL
The fader curve of each fader can be adjusted to the preferred characteristics for long mixes, scratching and any other style.

VFX-1 MIDI FX Controller for VCI-300
dedicated USB effects controller for VCI-300 + ITCH

OVERVIEW
The VFX-1 is a dedicated USB effects control unit for use when DJing with the Vestax VCI-300 and ITCH.
FEATURES
The VFX-1 features 2 individual effect channels with 12 effects each (including flange, phase, HPF, LPF, echo, delay, reverb, crusher, tremolo, user 1-2-3), along with 3 large rotary control knobs to control the parameters for each effect. Each effect can then be fed into deck A or B, Master or even the AUX/Mic. A maximum of 3 parameters are adjustable for each effect and the BEATS knob instantly sets the beat ratio of the effect time in sync with the songs BPM (beats per minute) - alternatively you can use the TAP TEMPO to manually set the time. The VFX-1 uses a simple USB connection with your computer and runs with the power provided. Connecting the VCI-300 and VFX-1 together will activate the effect unit of serato ITCH with no special settings or installation required. Works with both VCI-300 and VCI-300MKII.
