"The music just turns me on..." Repress of the original issue of the amazing Mikey Dread show dubs, which has historically been a very tough find. Somebody once said "no selector's bag (ed's note: or SP-303) is complete without this record" and I gotta agree. It's a combination of the original and downright wicked dub sound that Mikey honed in the late 70s: lots of effects, whistles and the like, always upbeat and sounding like it was recorded underwater- plus the jingles, sayings and sounds that Mikey made famous on his Dread At The Controls show. We're talking stuff like the female "you make me feel so good," the guy saying "is that a tointable? well, get on it" and "brand new, good for you!" - They're all here, meshed and spliced in between some of the best dubs ever. Take a listen to "Saturday Night Style" with it's hard double-stepping drum lines, and any of the other outstanding tracks: "Technical Selection," "Industrial Spy," "Headline News," "Operator's Choice" or "Pre-Dawn Dub." 10 cuts total, and for those interested, this has 1 track, "Tribal Dub," which wasn't on most of the recent reissues.
