  • Another Blue Note sure shot. The first quartet outing for Bobby Hutcherson. Penning six of the seven cuts, Hutcherson provided a mostly Post / Hard Bop sound similar to the work of Herbie Hancock around the same time whom also contributes to the personnel on the album. Hancock of course on piano, Hutch on Vibes, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and the always incredible Joe Chambers on Drums and percussion. Recorded in 66 at the church of Van Gelder, this is another fine addition to the Blue Note archive that might not be quintessential in the catalog however is important to the movement.
