  • Fans of the melded Post-Punk / Reggae world that brought us the likes of The Slits, Vivien Goldman, and The Clash (err Joe Strummer at least) should take note. This is the missing link that was once long forgotten, but now beautifully reissued via Japan's EM Records. Brenda Ray is not as much a household name as the aforementioned, however her work as Naffi and self titled releases have been a collectors item for some time. This collection compiles earlier work that is nearly improvisational with a raw, innocent sound. The dubby rhythms and sweet vocals remind us of the combination of Ari Up of The Slits, Antena, and Kleenex / LiLiPut (The English tracks at least). Includes fold-out colour insert printed on high-quality stock. The release comes highly recommended for Dub, Punk, and weirdo fans out there.
