  • Just by the cover, you can already tell this is gonna be pretty awesome. Let's see, you got dudes wearing funky race suits and helmets (looking very proto-daft I might add)? Check. Analog synths and drums? Check. Outer space back drop? Check. Plus diggers will note it was released in the prime year of 1983 on the French Savoir Faire label so you know it's gonna be some funky moments. Case in point with the funky groover "Cruisin'" that kicks off the LP on a spaced out italo boogie tip. The cosmic synth work continues on the title track "Grand Prix", but with an almost tropical flair to the rhythm. You also get some spaced out italo joints in "Crash Barrier" and "Eternity," plus the uptempo mover "On The Border" with those wild guitar solos. Oh and did I mention this was produced by legendary French producers Jean-Pierre Massiera and Bernard Torelli? It's no wonder this is on the top of many Cosmic/italo want lists! Recommended.
