  • There's a lot going on here and it all sounds good. Shape-shifting French producer Joakim always seems to have something up his sleeve. For "On The Beach" he's covered Neil Young's bluesy 1974 lament of the same name. It's removed from Young's nearly acoustic take, but despite all of Joakim's vocoder work and analog electronics he's able to preserve the feeling of the original. Canadian producer Mike Silver bka CFCF comes through with with a particularly upbeat remix that takes us right to Young's intrepid California coastline. For those of you looking for something a little more like classic Joakim he turns in his own "Cray76 Remix." Here he gives us something a little more dancefloor friendly, lifting the tempo and including some added percussion. Principles Of Geometry close out the release with a creepy interpretation, splitting Joakim's vocals into two distinct personalities.
