It's not ovaaah! Scorching edits of timeless Salsoul floor-workers from Kadena aka Todd Osborn. You might recognize the name from his productions on Ghostly / Spectral as "Osborne," or maybe you've heard a tall tale or two regarding the man's eccentric endeavors - makes hovercrafts, flies fighter jets, is a Lego expert, etc - all of which are true by the way. Now from the sounds of this 45, it's safe to add "edit master" to that ever-growing list of accomplishments. Here Kadena takes the original multi-tracks from Instant Funk's "I Got My Mind Made Up" to create a looser, mostly instrumental mix, that puts the emphasis on the groove while staying respectful to the OG. On the flip, First Choice's "Let No Man Put Asunder" classic gets a similar treatment - offering a fresh take on the peak-time Salsoul floor burner. Recommended.
