  • "A selection of contemporary pop titles featuring voices, brass and rhythm" is the original blurb found at the rear of this seminal library LP originally released in 1973 on KPM Music Library. While this relatively simple and dry synopsis is technically true, the music on Voices In Harmony is anything but dry. Featuring killer soul-funk, sweet jazz bossa and fuzz-up guitar licks, this album (one in a series of ten KPM records reissued by Be With Records) is smooth, warm, string-laced harmonious soul. Originally composed and pressed in extremely small quantities to be released as ready made cuts for television and radio, reissues of library records have surged in the in the past 5-10 years as original copies are getting pricier and hen's-teeth hard to find. Remastered from the original analog master tapes, the KPM 1000 Series records are finally seeing a proper reissue. Key tracks on this release include 'Ode to a Rock Opera' opening with a bass driven drum break, 'Roller Coaster' (which starts like a pop beat but then cuts into an almost hip-hop groove with shredding organ licks), the Bossa-themed 'Husky Birdsong' and 'Liquid Sunshine' sampled most recently by Logic. 15 tracks in all, released by Be With Records. Recommended.
