Where were you in '92? If you were anywhere near a rave, you probably got down to some breakbeat house sounds. I'm pretty sure Dutch producer Martyn was frequenting these kind of parties in the early 90's as his latest effort for Dolly Dubs captures this vibe to a "T". Listening to the opener "Done Away" for breaks laced with deep subs and spaced-out atmospherics, recalling some of Future Sound of London's best. Next up "Ef40" follows suit with more luscious pads, soulful samples, and more grooving breaks, while the title track "Don't Block The Box" takes it to deeper and darker territories. Recommended.
