  • Michna returns to Ghostly with his second full length. Thousand Thursday captures the eclectic mix of sounds that the Brooklyn based producer took in during the years since 2008's Magic Monday. He taps into his love of classic house, disco, and hip hop, as well as a penchant for infectious songwriting. It's evident from the start of "Cherry 2000" that there's an undercurrent of synth pop running throughout the record. MNDR adds a welcome dose of vocals to brooding strings of "Solid Gold" before "Nuroq Legacy" invites you to the party. Michna is a life long gear head, and it shows in his sound design and production. His songs are filled with shifts and changes as well as a welcome attention to detail. If you listen closely, there are secret messaged buried just beneath the surface. Take the heavy Italo vibes of "Increasing Ambition," there's plenty going on aside from the already satisfying bass line. Thousand Thursday is a welcome return from Michna.
