  • Miles Davis's "second great Quintet" toured northern Europe in 1967, and here are the group's explosive performances, recorded in Belgium, Denmark, and France. Miles's lineup of 1965 to '68, acknowledged as one of the "high reference points in 20th century jazz," played three festivals over the course of nine days in October - November of 1967, and these recordings feature the trumpeter accompanied by Wayne Shorter (tenor sax), Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (double bass), and Anthony Williams (drums). The audio was culled from original state-owned television and radio sources, and the record consists of previously unreleased or previously only bootlegged material. An essential LP that's had lasting impact on small group jazz, pressed on 180g audiophile vinyl and includes 16-page booklet w/ liner notes by jazz historian Ashley Kahn.
