  • Sophomore album from one of Nigeria's most legendary bands. Originally released in 1976, The Last Of The Origins finds Ofege further exploring a deep psych-funk sound with complex rhythms, African inspirations, huge breaks, wah-wah guitars, and heavy cosmic synths. It took the band roughly three years to follow up their debut, 1973's Try And Love (mainly because some band members had to finish school first), but we are so thankful they eventually did as the sounds contained are nothing short of epic. Check "Amayo," "Devils Work," or "Adieu" for a taste, you won't be disappointed. This official 2018 reissue comes courtesy of Tidal Wave Music and is the first time the record has been reissued since its original release in 1976. Comes complete with extensive liner notes from Ofege founding member and reissue supervisor Melvin Ukachi, original art from Yomi Osunfisan, and obi strip. Recommended.
