  • After nearly a decade in the game Omar-S drops his 4th full length on us! Usually, when a house producer drops an album, you expect something with some sort of arc and requisite chill out moments. That's not always the case with Omar-S. Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself keeps the tempo up for the majority of the album. It's as if Omar-S is letting you know what you are going to get with the title. After all, he's been absolutely killing for the past few years with the singles he's dropped on his FXHE imprint. For the most part we just want more and he's happy to deliver. His usually mournful melodies are all over the album along with some murky, dub infused moments. Part 2 of this 2 part release features the more idiosyncratic side of the album. The title track sets things off with an incessant, but changing bass line and drum workout. From there the chugging acid of "Ready My Black Asz" is followed by the paranoid funk of "Messier Sixty Eight." Of the three tracks that are only available on this vinyl release "Force FED The Meds!!!!!!" is the most immediate and potent. It seems as if Omar-S captured the death a synth on that one. Heavy.
