Patchworks returns to his house roots for the latest EP on EDR Records! The talented Bruno Hovart (aka Patchworks) is known around these parts for his funky past releases (not to mention work as Mr. President, The Dynamics, and Uptown Funk Empire), but for Dedications, the talented Frenchman proves his versatility with 4 tracks of deep, soulful house grooves. The title track sets the tone with warm rhodes chords riding a bumping, sax-infected beat, all held down by a deep rolling bassline. Next up "No You Didn't" turns up the energy with Philly style disco samples on a chugging groove, while "Walkin" funks it uph with a stomping disco house rhythm. As a nice change of pace, "Darkness" closes it out on the deep spiritual jazz tip, another testament to Patchworks versatility behind the boards. Fans of Theo Parrish and MCDE should check.
