  • Welcome reissue with some tasty remixes to boot! The original 7" release of these two Révolution Française cuts fetches upwards of $100 on the used market, reason enough to cop this on its own. Through in two tough remixes and you've got me sold. Jean-Pierre Bernard Massiera was one of France's most prolific producers of the 1970s, operating under a nearly limitless collection of pseudonyms and alter-egos. While he mostly trafficked in experimental music and spaced out psychedelic soul Révolution Française was his foray into the world of disco. Needless to say the arrangements are creative and complex with an underbelly of funk. Just the thing to get the collectors foaming at the mouth. Favorite Recordings has dug up this obscure record and brought in the Psychemagik boys along with Dwilt Sharpp for some remixes. The originals are worth the price of admission alone, but the remixes are the icing on the cake.
