First studio album in almost two decades from iconic stoner rockers Sleep. The Sciences is a riff heavy effort from the stoner metal progenitors that more that reaffirms their legacy. Although both frontman Al Cisneros and guitarist Matt Pike have forged separate paths with their own bands, they seem to be able to slip back in to Sleep with ease. There are tons of weed references along with a punishing amount of volume. Cisneros vocals are drone like chants while the guitars move like bubbling magma. Drummer Jason Roeder, who joined the band in 2009, plays with a subtlety that serves to amplify the power of Sleep's music. Six tracks in all. Released by Third Man Records on limited edition cassette for Cassette Store Day 2018.
