  • Don't let the smooth beats fool ya, Slum Village grimey af w/ its raps. Lost tracks from T3, Baatin, and J Dilla's Fantastic, Vol.2 —the critically acclaimed 2000 album from the Detroit group—sessions are collected on The Lost Scrolls 2 - Slum Village Edition, with previously unheard gems & fresh variations of known tracks filling out the tracklist. Check Q-Tip guesting on "Hold Tight," or "Hard Core" (read the first sentence again). "Talk About The Hoes" featuring Kurupt(!) is a posthumously discovered solo effort from Baatin, and Busta Rhymes delivers on "Living It Up." With all that said, it's Dilla's production that pushes the record into the underground classic territory, and the late maestro even shows off his mic skills on the never-before-heard "Dilla Freestyle."
