Crucial Hard Bop album. Tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins takes the lead on this late 50s Blue Note Records release. Though the horns are a plenty on this fantastic release, it is notable for the appearances of Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver. Famed in their own right, they take a back seat here to shine some light on the man of the hour. 6 cuts in total, two of Monk's creations 'Misterioso' and 'Reflections' superbly performed alongside Jay Jay Johnson, Paul Chambers, and Art Blakey rounding out a much appreciated Jazz essential. A part of Blue Notes 75th anniversary celebration the album has been remastered.
