Deluxe stereo pressing of the classic Beach Boys album. This 2017 Analog Productions reissue is arguably the best possible pressing of the Beach Boys' 1966 masterpiece to date. Not only is it pressed up on super heavyweight double 200 gram(!) vinyl, it also features remastered STEREO sound by Kevin Gray to be played at 45 RPM for the ultimate audiophile listening experience. Much has been written on the music itself, as it is widely considered one of the most influential rock albums of all time, but here is a short primer for the uninitiated. Brian Wilson did everything here - from writing the songs, to composing and arranging almost all the music (with the help of Tony Asher). His goal was to create "the greatest rock album ever made," one that is both personal and meaningful, with no filler tracks... and by most measures he did just that. In addition, the album introduced advanced recording techniques with the use of unusual/exotic instruments and timbres, all with a psychedelic tinge. Pet Sounds has stood the test of time, and ranks #2 on Rolling Stones top 500 list, second only to Sgt. Peppers. Includes all the best Beach Boys material - "Sloop John B", "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Don't Talk", "God Only Knows," and more. Comes housed in thick gatefold sleeve, complete with printed insert.
