  • The Juan Maclean are back with their 3rd full length for DFA. By this point Juan Maclean and Nancy Whang (also of LCD Soundsystem) are at master levels on the indie dance thing, bringing an expanded palette of sounds in tow this time around. Since 2009's The Future Will Come, the duo has dropped the occassional club banger here and there, but with In A Dream, Juan and Nancy are able to stretch out and flex there musical creativity. Listen as they jump from Moroder-Rush epicness ("Place Called Space") to Herb Alpert-esue "Rise" bumps ("Running Back To You"), quirky uptempo grooves ("Charlotte") and even some ambient flavor ("Sun Will Never Set"). Of course, the album is anchored with the downtown NYC sound that made them DFA darlings in the first place (check tracks like "A Simple Design" and "I've Waited So Long"). 9 tracks in gatefold (boobie) sleeve with free download.
