What a powerful opener, and it's a clear indication of where Turbonegro's head is at for its 1998 masterpiece, Apocalypse Dudes, the fourth studio album from the Norweigna sextet. Adding Euroboy as the lead guitarist and Chris Summers on the drums, the band decidedly shifts from the punk-rock leaning of Ass Cobra into fast-paced glam rock, with explosive guitar riffs, a wall of synth noises, and a sense melodrama engulfing each of the tracks. The tongue-in-cheek lyrics are both memorable and funny, and Hand Von Helvete churns out super catchy choruses time and time again. Check out "The Age of Pamparius," Prince of the Rodeo," "Self Destructo Bust," and Are You Ready (For Some Darkness).
